The course focuses on hiking in Iceland, and we explore both the highlands' volcanic expanses and the green valleys where sheep – and sometimes horses – graze freely.
We walk along paths where steam rises from the ground, along rushing rivers and out to dramatic coastal cliffs overlooking the North Atlantic Ocean.
The hikes with Annas Højskole in Iceland vary in length and difficulty, so everyone can take part.
Nature and culture – folk high school for adults with an outlook
Along the way we delve into Iceland's culture, history and mythology. We hear tales of the saga island's natural forces and gain insight into modern Icelandic society.
